Overview
What the Arlo Video Doorbell Wired is
The Arlo Video Doorbell Wired brings a refined layer of protection to your front entry, replacing your existing doorbell wiring with a smart, connected camera that never needs battery charging. Powered continuously through your home's existing low-voltage wiring, it delivers a crisp 1080p HD video feed with a square aspect ratio specifically engineered to capture visitors from head to toe, along with packages left at your feet, something traditional rectangular camera views often miss. The wide 180-degree diagonal viewing angle virtually eliminates blind spots across your porch, so you see who's approaching long before they reach the door, while HDR and night vision work together to keep footage clear whether it's bright midday sun or pitch darkness.
Smart detection is where this doorbell truly distinguishes itself in the crowded home security space. Built-in motion sensors paired with intelligent algorithms can distinguish between a person, a vehicle, or a package, sending instant, relevant alerts to your smartphone rather than bombarding you with notifications every time a leaf blows by. Two-way audio with noise cancellation lets you speak clearly to whoever's at the door, whether you're redirecting a delivery driver or checking in on a family member, and the built-in siren offers an added deterrent if you ever sense something is wrong. Integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant means you can view your doorbell feed on compatible smart displays or TVs with a simple voice command, folding the device seamlessly into a broader connected home setup.
Because it draws power directly from your doorbell wiring, installation is designed to feel familiar to anyone who has ever swapped a light fixture, with Arlo providing a bundled tool kit and clear instructions to make the wired setup approachable even for non-professionals. The weatherproof housing is built to withstand rain, heat, and cold, making it a dependable fixture through every season. Subscribing to Arlo Secure unlocks extended cloud storage, rich notifications, and emergency response options, transforming the doorbell from a simple camera into a central piece of a watchful, always-on home security strategy. For homeowners seeking reliable, continuous power without sacrificing smart features or video clarity, the Arlo Video Doorbell Wired stands as a thoughtful, dependable choice for monitoring the threshold of their home.
