Overview
What the Reolink Go Plus is
The Reolink Go Plus is a fully wireless, cellular-powered security camera designed for locations where traditional Wi-Fi or wired power simply aren't an option. Whether you need to monitor a remote cabin, a construction site, a farm, or a driveway far from your router, this camera uses 4G LTE cellular data to transmit footage directly to your smartphone, bypassing the need for home network infrastructure entirely. It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery that can be supplemented with an optional solar panel, allowing for truly independent, long-term outdoor deployment without worrying about cords or outlets. This makes it an excellent solution for property owners who need surveillance in areas standard smart cameras simply cannot reach.
In terms of surveillance performance, the Reolink Go Plus captures sharp, detailed video and incorporates smart PIR motion detection that distinguishes between humans, vehicles, and irrelevant background movement, cutting down on false alerts. When motion is detected, the camera sends instant push notifications to your phone through the Reolink app, where you can view live or recorded footage, communicate through two-way audio, and trigger a built-in spotlight or siren to deter intruders in real time. Night vision capabilities ensure that the camera remains effective even in low-light or completely dark conditions, giving users round-the-clock protection regardless of weather or time of day. The device is also built with a weatherproof housing, allowing it to withstand rain, heat, and cold while maintaining consistent operation outdoors.
Setup is designed to be simple and flexible, requiring just a cellular data plan—offered through Reolink's own service—rather than complicated networking equipment or professional installation. This plug-and-play approach, combined with its cloud and local storage options, makes it appealing to homeowners, landowners, and small business operators who want reliable, scalable security without extensive technical know-how. The Reolink Go Plus ultimately fills a crucial niche within home security and surveillance: delivering dependable, remote-area monitoring in a self-sufficient package that keeps users connected to their property no matter how off-grid the location may be.
