Overview
What the Ring Video Doorbell 2020 is
The Ring Video Doorbell 2020 release brings smart home security to your front entrance with a thoughtfully upgraded design that replaces an existing doorbell or installs easily with included battery power. This compact device captures clear 1080p HD video and uses advanced motion detection to alert your smartphone, tablet, or PC the moment someone approaches your door, whether that's a delivery carrier, a visiting neighbor, or an unexpected guest. Through the Ring app, homeowners can see, hear, and speak to visitors in real time from anywhere, turning a simple doorbell into an active line of defense against package theft and unwanted intrusions.
Built for everyday reliability, this video doorbell offers improved motion detection compared to earlier Ring models, allowing users to customize motion zones so they receive relevant alerts about activity near their doorstep rather than irrelevant notifications from passing cars or pedestrians on the sidewalk. The two-way talk feature lets you communicate directly with whoever is at your door, giving the impression that someone is home even when you're away, which serves as a practical deterrent to porch pirates and potential intruders. Night vision capability ensures that your entryway remains monitored after dark, converting footage to infrared so you never lose sight of who's coming and going, regardless of the hour.
Designed with the modern household in mind, the Ring Video Doorbell 2020 integrates seamlessly with Alexa-enabled devices, allowing you to view live video feeds on compatible Echo Show screens or receive audio announcements when motion is detected. Its removable battery pack makes recharging straightforward without needing to uninstall the entire unit, and optional Ring Protect subscription plans allow users to review, save, and share recorded footage, adding an extra layer of documented security. As part of the broader Ring ecosystem, this doorbell works alongside other Ring cameras and accessories, helping homeowners build a comprehensive surveillance network that keeps their property monitored and their peace of mind intact.
