Overview
What the Ring Video Doorbell 4 is
Ring Video Doorbell 4 brings a refined layer of protection to your front entryway, combining crisp 1080p HD video with Color Pre-Roll technology that captures a few seconds of color footage before motion is even triggered, giving you fuller context for every visitor or passerby. The improved motion detection zones let homeowners customize exactly where alerts matter most, reducing unnecessary notifications from passing cars or street activity while still catching every approach to the door. Its redesigned, slimmer shape fits more discreetly against door frames and siding, and the quick-release battery pack makes recharging simple without needing to uninstall the entire unit.
Built for real-world reliability, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 supports both battery and existing doorbell wiring, so installation is flexible whether you're retrofitting an older home or setting up new construction. Two-way talk with noise cancellation ensures conversations with visitors, delivery drivers, or unexpected guests come through clearly, even in busy environments, while the enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity minimizes dropped connections during live view or recorded playback. The device works seamlessly within the Ring ecosystem, syncing with compatible chimes, lighting, and security cameras to create a unified smart home security setup.
With the Ring app, users get real-time alerts straight to their smartphone, allowing them to see, hear, and speak to whoever's at the door from virtually anywhere. Optional Ring Protect subscription plans unlock video recording history, richer notifications, and person-only alerts that filter out false triggers from animals or shadows. Weather-resistant construction means the doorbell performs reliably through rain, heat, and cold, making it a dependable fixture of home security year-round. For homeowners seeking a balance of smart convenience and vigilant monitoring at their front door, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 stands as a capable, well-rounded choice in the video doorbell category.
